Clothes moths and carpet beetles are fabric pests that attack natural fibers — wool, fur, feathers, silk, leather, and upholstered furniture. The larvae, not the adults, cause damage. Adults are mainly reproductive; it's the larvae that feed and destroy.
Clothes Moths
Pale gold adults that avoid light. Found in dark closets and storage. Larvae live in silk tubes or portable cases.
Carpet Beetles
Small oval beetles found near windows. Larvae are carrot-shaped, bristly, and destroy carpet edges, clothing, and upholstery.
