Habits & Biology
The most difficult cockroach to eliminate. Reproduces fastest (up to 6 generations per year). Prefers warm, humid areas close to food and water.
Typical Hiding Areas
Behind refrigerators, stoves, under sinks, inside cabinet hinges, around plumbing penetrations, inside electronics.
Signs of Activity
Pepper-like fecal spots in cabinet corners
Egg cases (tan, ribbed) glued to surfaces
Live roaches when light is turned on at night
Musty odor in heavy infestations

Year-round indoors. Population explodes in summer heat.

Brown-banded Cockroach (has bands across wings, smaller)Asian Cockroach (looks identical but flies toward light)
